As we all know AC Milan and Inter have had a change in ownership. They now have two things in common as they are both in the hands of Chinese investors and are based in the city of Milano, the question is which one of these Milanese teams will be at the top again.

Inter has been taken over by the Chinese last summer, while Milan are just getting familiar with the new owners since they have taken their seats in the office in April. Inter already benefited a great deal from the money the owners brought available, because these funds made sure they were able to tie down João Mario, Banega and appoint former Ajax successor Frank de Boer last summer. Inter has failed to impress dramatically under their new owners despite these reinforcements.

The Inter fans had great confidence at the start of last season, but their confidence made place for disappointment and anger. Their anger eventually caused the Inter fans to walk out of the stadium in the match against Sassuolo well before the break while the score still being 0-0, they couldn’t stand the lack of effort and desire from their players. Inter are off to a very bad start under the Chinese owners after finishing seventh and while doing so missing out on the Europa league, now let’s take a look at how things are looking for Milan.

The future looks bright for Milan, as we finished sixth and therefore we can hope of making a strong comeback in Europe, something us Rossoneri fans have been waiting a long time for. Finishing sixth is a great accomplishment, because we weren’t able to spend significant amount of money last summer, due to Berlusconi not being crazy enough to spend money on transfers while he was selling the club. Also finishing above Inter feels good and this should become a new tradition.

For the new season the expectations for the fans of both Milan and Inter are high, because these teams have attracted new quality players and are planning on bringing in these kind of players. The expectations for Milan might be even higher as they are off to an insane start of the summer Mercato with the signature of Kessié, Musacchio, Rodríguez and André Silva. Moreover, they have some promising young players on their payroll such as Locatelli and Calabria. Which one of these teams will be at the top level again is hard to predict, but I would put my money on Milan.
