Watford forward Richarlison has been linked to multiple clubs, including AC Milan. The Brazilian has made a super start to the Premier League season, scoring 5 goals and giving 3 assists in his first 14 appearances.
Richarlison has been in great form so far, but Mirabelli wants to see if the 20-year-old can keep his form up until the end of the season before making a bid. Richarlison moved to Watford from Fluminense in the summer for £11.2 million and has signed a 5 year deal with the Hornets. Many clubs such as Chelsea, Tottenham, and Dortmund are considering preparing a bid for the player in January, but all these rumors have been crushed when Watford chief executive Scott Duxbury stating this:
“We want Richarlison to be here for many more seasons. We are building a very competitive squad, we have no need to sell. We believe in the season being a race and that’s why we will never sell a player in January who we believe will help us. Nobody will be sold that we don’t want to. None of the players making an impact now will go.”
He might not be sold in January or in the summer, but if Milan offers a good amount of money for the attacker, Watford might go ahead with the deal and send Richarlison to the San Siro. It would be hard for Milan to sign the player because of the interest of many huge clubs, but if the deal goes through, it might help Milan and it might not.
We have not seen enough of Richarlison in the top tier of England, it is not safe to jump to any conclusions from now. World football has experienced many young stars that were on fire for a season or even less, then at the end, they turn out not to be so good anymore. Bringing in Richarlison is a gamble, he can turn out as 3 things: 1. A great player and a star. 2. An average player. 3. A failed prospect.
I agree with Mirabelli’s choice to wait until the end of the season before making a decision for the young star.
