Leon Bailey is currently one of the youngsters that top clubs are willing to give everything for their signature. The Jamaican plays for Leverkusen and is being followed by top clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, and Milan. With big clubs monitoring the youngster, who will get his signature? Is Leverkusen ready to let him go?
The 20-year old signed for the German giants from Belgian side KRC Genk for a fee of around 13.5 Million Euros. Since his arrival, he hasn’t failed to impress Heiko Herrlich (Coach of Bayer Leverkusen), he is already a regular starter and has attracted attention from all over Europe. The left winger has scored 8 goals and provided 5 assists in 14 Bundesliga starts, he has a good reputation for playmaking, dribbling, and of course finishing.
AC Milan only has 1 man that is fully capable to play on the left wing, that is Hakan Calhanoglu. The Turkish has been in fine form, but there is no one capable to properly fill the position if an injury comes for the 24-year-old. Milan isn’t planning to keep Bailey as a squad rotation player, but a potential first-team player.
Leverkusen is looking for bids in the region of 35 million Euros. If Milan is to match that fee they will have to sell players, as they are being accused of breach of Financial Fair Play regulations. If they do not sell players and go straight for the player, then it will just dig a deeper hole of trouble for the club. Milan isn’t willing to sell any top players but it can be the only option to land the attacker.
