AC Milan has resumed their interest in Torino star Andrea Belotti. They had him on the radar since the summer but his club would not let him go for cheap.
Milan is being rivaled by Manchester United for the Italian striker Andrea Belotti. Both clubs wanted to sign him in the summer, but the release clause for the 24-year-old way 100 million Euros, only applicable to foreign clubs. Now both clubs have Belotti back on their list as his contract talks are stalling.
The striker has only scored 4 goals in 15 Serie A appearances this season and is struggling to gain back the form that he was in last season. The 2016/17 season was an amazing season for Belotti, netting 26 league goals. This season, he has failed to regain his value, this has caused Torino to consider lowering his release clause as his form is falling and injuries are coming along.
Milan is having problems with their attacking options, bringing in Belotti can give them more options up front and hopefully bring back the Belotti the world knew last season. He has a current market value of 40 million euros, which might be difficult to match for Milan as they are going low on finances.
Coach Gattuso has made it clear that he does not want to bring in any players in January, he wants to work with the players he has and might sell a few.
His contract expires in 2021, but Torino might not keep him until then and sell him in a coming transfer window. Belotti can push for a transfer, he has attempted to do this last summer but Torino was asking for too much money for the striker.
Milan Back In For Belotti.
