The AC Milan’s young prospect Giovanni Crociata has officially completed his transfer to Crotone
As the summer window progresses, so does Milan’s transfer activity; and after many key signings in all areas of the field, and with more to come, some players have had to leave to make space.
One of these was unfortunately Milan’s young talent Giovanni Crociata. He joined Milan’s youth sector in 2001, and has played in the primavera until last year, when he joined Serie B side Brescia. There he managed many impressive performances, ending the season with 1 goal and 4 assists.
Giovanni is a central midfielder capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or a left midfielder, positions where Lucas Biglia, Giacomo Bonaventura, Riccardo Montolivo, Franck Kessie, Jose Sosa, Manuel Locatelli and Jose Mauri are all ahead. Milan is also looking to sign Bayern youngster Renato Sanches, so therefore Giovanni Crociata had to move on for the good of his own career.
It is always a shame to see a young, home-grown talent leave, however sometimes it is necessary. However moving on, Milan is looking to build a new and improved squad, well equipped for the future, and Giovanni Crociata was obviously not in the plans for this project.
Crociata enjoyed a successful pre season with Milan, scoring 1 goal in a 4-0 win vs. Swiss side Lugano, and was on the bench for the pre-season ICC tour of China, where Milan beat Renato Sanches’ Bayern 4-0.
Giovanni signed a deal with Crotone, the Calabrese side, until June 2021.
We all wish Giovanni good luck at his new club; and who knows what the future holds? Maybe one day he could return to Milan
