Giacomo Bonaventura and Carlos Bacca are still not training with the group and their condition stays a question mark heading into Sunday’s match.
Vincenzo Montella said after the match against Crotone that ‘I hope to recover Giacomo Bonaventura for the Roma game’ but the optimism regarding Jack’s return has turned into pessimism.
Also today (Saturday), Bonaventura – together with Colombian striker Carlos Bacca who hasn’t featured since the Derby della Madonnina – trained apart from the squad and according to Sky Italia, they are big doubts for the match on Monday night against Roma at Stadio Olimpico (21:00 CET).
Lapadula will certainly get the start if Bacca won’t make it (some would say he’d still start even if Carlos was fit) but the bigger issue is in midfield as the Rossoneri will also miss Juraj Kucka who’s out with a suspension (will be replaced by Pasalic). Sky reports that Jose Sosa or Andrea Bertolacci could get the start, although Matias Fernandez has fully recovered and should also be considered.
Sosa played against Crotone and was criticized by the media and the fans for his performance while Bertolacci hasn’t played a minute since the first Matchday as he struggled with an injury.
