AC Milan have joined English clubs in the hunt for Ajax starlet David Neres.
The 20-year-old Brazilian is wanted by the Serie A giants, but they’re joining a long list of Manchester United, Arsenal, Spurs and Juventus.
The youngster is enjoying a good campaign in Amsterdam, grabbing 9 goals in 22 games and racking up 12 assists.
Calciomercato.com reported that the Rossoneri have thrown their hat in the ring in a bid to lure the striker to San Siro. Arriving in the Netherlands from Sao Paulo for 12m in January 2017.
The U20 striker has gotten the nickname ‘Little Neymar’ because of his impressive performances. Milan have immense competition from Mourinho, Pocchetino and Wenger to land the Brazilian. Ajax have indicated they don’t want to sell the player before summer.
However, the club may be tempted with a big offer after parting company with boss Marcel Keizer and his assistant coach – and Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp – last week.
Michael Reiziger has taken over as coach on an interim basis – but if Milan or any of Neres suitors lodged a bid of around 25m EUR it could test the Eredivisie side’s will to keep him.
